Qualcomm announced its latest Snapdragon 8 series chipset yesterday, mere days before MediaTek unveils the Dimensity 9400+ at its next Dimensity Developer Conference (MDDC 2025). As it stands, two Android OEMs have confirmed their usage of MediaTek's next high-end chipset, the latest of which being Realme with a successor to the Realme GT6 (curr. $496.99 on Amazon).
Typically, Qualcomm teases which Android OEMs are on board, as it did last year with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 Elite. For some reason, it has elected against doing so this time around for the announcement of the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4.
Nonetheless, Digital Chat Station has provided insights in this regard, inclusing from when we can expect to see Snapdragon 8s Gen 4-powered smartphones begin shipping. Apparently, iQOO will be first up with the Z10 Turbo Pro later this month, which will launch simultaneously alongside the Dimensity 8400-backed Z10 Turbo.
Digital Chat Station adds that the Z10 Turbo Pro will eventually be joined by rivals produced by Meizu, Oppo, Redmi and Xiaomi too. The leaker has not been specific in this regard, though. Based on recent leaks and rumours, the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro and Civi 5 Pro are candidates for Redmi's and Xiaomi's first Snapdragon 8s Gen 4-powered smartphones. Presumably, Android OEMs will begin sharing Snapdragon 8s Gen 4-related teasers in the next week or so.
