The Nothing Phone (3) is currently marketed as Nothing's first "true" flagship. Although Qualcomm's fastest processor, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, is not installed, the Nothing Phone (3) offers four 50-MP cameras: a 50-MP selfie camera, a 50-MP f/1.7 main camera with a large 1/1.3-inch sensor, a 50-MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50-MP f/2.7 periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, each with a 1/2.76-inch sensor.
Software update Nothing OS V3.5-250801-1847 has just been released for the Nothing Phone (3), which is expected to fix numerous issues and improve the cameras. Most notably, the "AI Super Res Zoom" now supports up to 30x hybrid zoom, which is intended to make photos with 20x to 30x zoom look better than before. The shutter button should respond faster after the update, the autofocus is now more reliable, and photos should be more color-accurate than before, likely due to a revised white balance.
Another new feature is that the Nothing Phone (3) saves a Glyph Mirror-style photo when the dot-matrix secondary display on the back of the smartphone is used as a viewfinder when taking a photo. This automatically gives users a highly stylized pixel version of a photo in addition to the regular image. Nothing also fixes numerous bugs: 4K videos now play smoothly, Snapchat is displayed at 120 Hz, WhatsApp can now open PDF files, and third-party chargers should now charge the smartphone more reliably.
