Blackstar unveils Polar Go smartphone audio interface with stereo mics and XLR input for recording creators and musicians

Blackstar Amplification has announced the Polar Go, a battery-powered USB-C audio interface designed to simplify the recording and streaming of instrumental and vocal performances, podcasts, and live streams from any location in the world. The Polar Go has an MSRP of $129.99 and will be available in September 2025. In the meantime, readers can explore Blackstar's other products on Amazon.
The Polar Go requires only a single USB-C connection to an Android or Apple smartphone for high-quality recordings thanks to its built-in ProCapture stereo microphones, which are much better than the microphones built into smartphones, according to the company. Instruments, microphones, or other external audio sources can be connected to the audio interface using the XLR input, which provides +48V phantom power.
The smartphone app has many controls to tune the Advanced DSP engine, including the built-in compression, EQ, noise control, and reverb settings, so recordings can sound more polished, according to Blackstar. Performers can also use the Audio Magic Wand to automatically optimize recordings using presets. A 3.5 mm stereo jack is provided for monitoring the audio with headphones.
The battery can power the Polar Go up to four hours and recharges using a USB-C power supply.
