We Are Rewind cassette player with Bluetooth and USB-C launches as Elvis Limited Edition
The We Are Rewind WE-001 cassette player has always been available in a range of bright colors, but the new Elvis Limited Edition is arguably the most striking design variant yet. The casing is matte black, with a button and the Rewind logo in a red accent color. The back panel features a giant "Elvis" logo.
The Limited Edition comes in a collector's box that also includes a specially reissued version of Elvis' Christmas Album. Technically, the Limited Edition is identical to the regular We Are Rewind WE-001, ranging from the relatively compact aluminum case (measuring 14 x 8.9 x 3.4 centimeters) to the integrated 2,000 mAh battery, which is said to provide ten to twelve hours of runtime and can be conveniently charged via USB-C.
Headphones can be connected either via a 3.5 mm jack or via Bluetooth 5.1. It's also possible to connect a microphone or an external player and record on blank cassettes. At an output power of 2 mW, the integrated headphone amplifier isn't particularly powerful, and the WE-001 lacks features like Dolby Noise Reduction, so the cassette player is primarily aimed at casual users rather than hi-fi enthusiasts.
Price and availability
The We Are Rewind x Elvis Limited Edition is available now for $199 via the manufacturer's online shop. This makes the Elvis version, limited to 1,957 units, $40 more expensive than the technically identical We Are Rewind WE-001. However, the manufacturer also includes a cassette of Elvis' Christmas Album with the Limited Edition.
