OnePlus 13 gets its front officially revealed ahead of October launch
OnePlus will be among the first Chinese manufacturers to announce a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 smartphone, the OnePlus 13. This announcement should happen right after Qualcomm makes the next-gen flagship SoC official, and recently, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has offered a glimpse at the possible rear design of the smartphone.
Now, Louis Lee, the company's president, has officially showcased the front of the device. Through a Weibo post, the company executive has confirmed that the OnePlus 13 will feature the BOE X2 display. To look back, the predecessor comes with the BOE X1 screen, and the X2 is expected to bring a couple of improvements.
For starters, from the image shared by the president, it seems that the OnePlus 13 display has "micro-curvature" on all four sides. This is something that Oppo and Vivo are also implementing on their Find X8 and X200 lineups, respectively. This "micro-curved" panel is said to offer the advantages of both a regular curved and a flat display.
The picture also shows that the BOE X2 display of the OnePlus 13 has relatively narrow bezels. This is another feature that Chinese manufacturers are implementing on their upcoming flagship phones. While Louis Lee didn't share any specs, this LTPO display is rumored to be 6.82-inch in size with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 2K resolution.
Other rumored specs of the upcoming OnePlus flagship include up to 24 GB of LPPDR5X RAM, a large 6,000 mAh battery, 50W wireless charging, and support for wired 120W fast charging (25K Ugreen 145W power bank curr. $99.99 on Amazon). The smartphone is also expected to feature an improved camera setup with the same image algorithm as the Oppo Find X8.
