The OnePlus Open is still a capable foldable smartphone despite being nearly a year old. At its discounted price of $1,299, it makes for a compelling buy for anyone who wants a book-style foldable.

The OnePlus Open has been available on store shelves for almost a year now, and despite the arrival of newer foldables from rivals such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, it is still a great device. And now that it is on sale for a lot less than its launch price, it is easier to recommend.

When the OnePlus Open was unveiled, it cost $1,699.99, and for that price you get 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. OnePlus also sells an Apex Edition with double the storage, a privacy mode that can be enabled with the alert slider, and a gorgeous red leather finish for $1,899.99.

Now, you can get the standard edition for just $1,299.99 on Amazon and Best Buy, which is 24% or $400 off its original price. That's significantly cheaper than the $1,799 Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

The OnePlus Open has a 6.3-inch cover display while the foldable display which doesn't have a noticeable crease is a 7.82-inch panel. Both screens are LTPO3 panels with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor under the hood isn't the most powerful mobile chip there is but it should be able to handle whatever task you throw at it.

There's also a 4,805mAh battery that charges at up to 67W, and unlike Samsung and Google, OnePlus ships the phone with a charger in the box. Another interesting feature of the OnePlus Open is its support for stylus input despite OnePlus not advertising it. However, you will have to purchase the stylus separately as it doesn't come in the box.

This deal on the OnePlus Open is a limited-time one, although there's no mention of when it will end. Nevertheless, it is best to grab it as soon as possible.
