OnePlus 13 seemingly appears in official Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 teaser video
Qualcomm will be officially introducing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 at the upcoming Snapdragon Summit event. This will be the company's first mobile SoC with a custom-designed Oryon CPU, and through a Weibo post, the chip designer has officially teased the next-gen flagship processor.
The video didn't share any concrete details about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The name of the SoC was also kept hidden, fueling the recent rumors about a possible name change. However, the teaser did show the back of a phone, which is speculated to be the OnePlus 13.
Backed by Geekbench listings, this upcoming OnePlus flagship is pretty much confirmed to be among the first phones to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. While the company has officially showcased the front, the back didn't make an official appearance.
However, the back of the unnamed phone in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 teaser has an off-centered circular camera island, something that OnePlus has been sticking to for a while now (OnePlus 12 cur. $599.99 on Amazon). Renowned tipster Digital Chat Station also notes that the reference phone shown in the teaser "is a bit like the OnePlus 13."
Besides that, the teaser video says that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will make a "breakthrough" in speed and performance, which aligns with what a Vivo official recently revealed. Vivo's Han Boxiao claimed that the next-gen flagship SoCs will offer a performance boost that's equivalent to two generations.
