Ayaneo fully details Pocket EVO gaming handheld; early bird price starts at $389
Ayaneo has been teasing the Pocket EVO for quite a while now. Previously, the company confirmed that the gaming handheld packs the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 gaming SoC, which the company has also used for the Pocket DMG and Pocket S.
However, as the company has revealed today, on the Ayaneo Pocket EVO, the Qualcomm gaming chip is configured at 15W TDP. Combined with what Ayaneo calls an X86-level cooling system, this chip should offer stable performance under heavy loads.
The company has also revealed that the gaming handheld features an 8,600 mAh battery. This large capacity should lead to longer runtimes than the Ayaneo Pocket S. As previously confirmed, the Pocket EVO features Hall effect joysticks, which are known to be longer lasting and better performing than the regular analog option.
Among the other highlights is the 7-inch OLED 120 Hz screen. Ayaneo says that this 1080p display can reach up to 800 nits in brightness and supports HDR. As for the design, the gaming handheld sports a lightweight build, which the company says should make it highly portable.
Other notable aspects included button mapping support, the "largest" linear motor found in an Android gaming handheld, and "multi-scene" performance mode. The Ayaneo Pocket EVO will be available on Indiegogo on August 8 with a early bird price of $389 for the 8/128 GB variant. The official retail price for the same configuration will be $499 (Z1 ROG Ally curr. $399.99 on Best Buy). More details on pricing and availability are shared in the pictures attached below.
