AYANEO heavily discounts AIR Plus gaming handheld

AYANEO has plenty of new products in the pipeline, whether that be the Pocket EVO, the Pocket DMG or the Pocket Micro. Incidentally, the company has teased the release of new information about the Pocket EVO. However, it also plenty of older models that it continues to sell, including the NEXT Lite and GEEK (curr. $699.99 on Amazon).

As Retro Game Corps notes, it also appears that AYANEO is attempting to clear inventory of the AIR Plus, which arrived early last year. To recap, the AIR Plus was initially available with Intel Core i3-1215U, AMD Ryzen 3 7320U and AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processors. Although the first of those is no longer orderable, AYANEO has decided to heavily discount Ryzen 3 7320U SKUs.

Specifically, the company dropped the device to $269, which it marketed as a $330 saving on its MSRP. Unsurprisingly, this SKU sold out quickly; it is unclear how many units AYANEO offered at this price, though. By contrast, the AIR Plus' more expensive Ryzen 3 7320U SKU remains available for $499 with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. While this represents a 23% saving on its MSRP, it is worth pointing out that AYANEO has effectively returned the AIR Plus to its initial Indiegogo pricing, which it offered on only 100 units.
