Final has opened its online store in Japan for preorders of the ZE500 for ASMR true wireless earbuds. ASMR, or autonomous sensory meridian response, recordings have become popular in recent years for the spine-tingling effect they have on their listeners. Everyday sounds seem like they are occurring right next to listeners' ears due to close field recordings.
The ZE500 for ASMR has been specially optimized to enhance the close proximity effect while reducing potentially discomforting high frequency artifacts. Unlike the prior model optimized only for VTuber Suo Patra's voice, the ZE500 for ASMR can be used for all content. Voices are clearly separated from the background sounds and music with a good sense of separation.
The earbuds have been designed to be small and comfortable to wear for hours. The soft ear tips are designed to fit at a shallow depth with zero pressure even while sleeping on a pillow. The smartphone app allows for fine volume adjustment to optimize how much the earbud volume changes between steps.
The ASRM earbuds support standard SBC and AAC codecs over Bluetooth 5.4 connections. They can run up to 4.5 hours between recharges, and the recharging case provides a total of 18 hours of runtime. The earbuds recharge in 1.5 hours and the case recharges in 2.0 hours. A quick charge of 10 minutes adds 1.0 hour of runtime.
The ZE500 for ASMR earbuds come in dark gray or cream and have an MSRP of 8,980 yen (~$60). They are available for preorder from April 9 to April 17. The earbuds might be exported abroad, so American readers should check the Final store in Amazon US after April 18.
