The Redmi K60 (also known as the POCO F5 Pro for the international market) is now said to have a successor in the works. Accordingly, the "K70" is most likely to turn out as the vanilla variant of its upcoming line-up - however, it is also now tipped to launch with the same processor as the current K60 Pro. Then again, the K70 Pro is believed to do better than either in this respect.

The K70 is now said to launch as a 'vanilla flagship' version of Redmi's next-gen top-end smartphone - nevertheless, its leaks already build it up as the most powerful direct successor of the original K20 yet. It is now projected to launch powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC formerly exclusive to the K60 Pro.

Then again, this should not come as much of a surprise, as the equally vanilla K60 managed to launch with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 - a substantial improvement over the Dimensity 8100 of the K50. Nevertheless, the K70 Pro is also allegedly poised to blow right past both of them.

It is said to be Redmi's remarkably quick way of getting off the line with the upcoming next-gen 8 Gen 3, tipped to launch with its upgraded flagship spec alongside its "standard" sibling before the end of 2023.

Then again, neither smartphone may be available until the next year, whereupon the K70 (or, just maybe, POCO F6 Pro) is projected to fight it out with equally new phones with the same slightly older and slower, yet still high-end, processor from brands such as Realme and OnePlus.
