Redmi 12 Indian launch hyped with colorful design preview
The Redmi 12 is a new option for those looking to spend US$200 or less on their next smartphone. It offers the potential buyer microSD card-expandable memory as well as a 90Hz display - albeit one driven by a non-5G MediaTek chipset that could admittedly be much newer - for that price.
That might explain why the Xiaomi sub-brand is marketing the device on its looks at present prior to unleashing it on the Indian market. It has a refined take on the Note 12 series' look (which gives it triple rear cameras, at least), hyped as a "Crystal Glass" design language in its new region.
The international version of the 12 had a "rainbow hue"-effect colorway called Polar Silver on its launch; however, Xiaomi has now revealed it has chosen to re-name it to Moonlight Silver for its Indian audience. The OEM has yet to hint at the possibility of similarly "stylish" blue or black alternatives thus far, although more Redmi 12 teasers are forthcoming ahead of its formal August 1, 2023 debut.
