OnePlus updates six smartphones to OxygenOS 13, including OnePlus 8 series
OnePlus has updated another six smartphones to OxygenOS 13, having brought the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro onto the new OS a few days ago. While OnePlus gained a reputation last year for taking ages to release major software updates to its older smartphones, it appears to have changed its tune with Android 13. As it stands, OnePlus has now issued Android 13-based updates for the following additional devices:
- OnePlus 8
- OnePlus 8 Pro
- OnePlus 8T
- OnePlus 9T
- OnePlus 9RT
- OnePlus 10R
Seemingly, the six devices have received the same new features as each other, even though OnePlus has released them under different build numbers. For example, the OnePlus 8 series should now be on F.13, whereas the OnePlus 9R is now on firmware F.16. Similarly, OnePlus has upgraded the OnePlus 9RT to F.11 and the OnePlus 10R to C.14.
As with the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus should have brought all six devices onto its Aquamorphic Design language, as well as numerous performance and other visual tweaks. Additionally, OxygenOS 13 contains Dolby Atmos support and a revised Private Safe suite. While OnePlus rolls out updates in batches, you can usually manually update your device through services like Oxygen Updater, an app that you can download via the Google Play Store.
