OnePlus may now be in the final stages of a launch for a successor to the 10 Pro, which may or may not blow its forebear away thanks to upgrades such as its new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 platform. Nevertheless, the brand's current 'stove-top' rear camera layout for its flagship Android smartphones is thought to stay right in place (albeit with superficial tweaks) in the 11 - and, now, in the next variant to launch thereafter.
This device is apparently code-named udon (which is in line with the OnePlus tradition of calling its devices after food), and is linked to an image showing 3 different smartphone cameras and a flash in a by-now familiar 2x2 layout. Then again, they are in extreme close-up on a plain metallic-gray background, without a hint of a Hasselblad-branded raised surround of any kind, circular or otherwise.
Then again, the device is said to have a curved rear panel - which, again, is very OnePlus - although its punch-hole selfie camera allegedly has a central orientation, whereas the brand seems to have a vast preference for the corner-mounted alternative.
Nevertheless, the leaker Max Jambor reportedly asserts that it is not the 11, which has led to speculation that this "udon" will debut as the 11R. Then again, the 10R launched without an Alert Slider, in keeping with a new official resolution that only the top-end flagship of the year would be made with the iconic hardware switch.
Then again, as there is talk of this alleged 11-series variant being the result of confidential crowd design (being made "with the help of OnePlus Community testers in India"), perhaps the feature has been brought back by popular demand.
