OnePlus has offered official confirmation that its first TV will be released at some point in September 2019. In addition, it will do so in only 1 region to start off with: India. The OEM's CEO asserts that this is due to the recognition the brand has established in this country, as well as its "very positive relationship with content providers in India".
Apparently, OnePlus is waiting to build up the same with providers in other regions (such as the United States and Europe) prior to arranging subsequent launches for its TV. In the meantime, more potential details about its inaugural big screen are spilling out there.
AndroidTVRumors now asserts that this product (or one variant thereof, at least) has found its way onto Google's Play Developer Console Device Catalog. This apparent listing refers to the device as the OnePlus_Dosa_IN (which, as the OEM has a history of affixing food-based nicknames to its upcoming phones, is plausible enough).
It also identifies the MediaTek MT5670 (a quad-ARM A53 chip clocked at 1.5GHz) as this OnePlus TV's CPU, and the Mali-G51 as its GPU. This catalog entry also puts a RAM spec at 3GB, which is probably sufficient for a TV.
The "Dosa" is also allegedly an Android 9 TV, which is also a reasonable assumption. The Console Device Catalog does not specify this screen's size, although it does describe its resolution as 1080p. Nevertheless, AndroidTVRumors appears confident that it is also capable of reproducing 4K content.
