The OnePlus TV may be the next big smart screen launch after that of the new Honor Vision. A tech blog has cited "reliable" sources that now assert this event will take place between September 25 and 30, 2019. This product - which, as it turns out, will simply combine its OEM's logo and the word 'TV' for a name - has also undergone Bluetooth SIG certification.
The resulting documentation shows that the OnePlus TV will come in a wide range of variants, all with their own model names that hint at their specs. They follow a format that incorporates double-figure numbers; a small selection of single letters, a second number between 2 and 4, and a 2-letter suffix.
As the first of these are either 43, 55, 65 or 75, they are likely to be diagonal screen lengths in inches. The latter component may hint at their intended region or market, as they have a choice between US, CN (most likely China) and IN (India? or, perhaps, international?).
The remaining numbers and letters (Q, Z or U) are less potentially patent. They may refer to screen resolutions, or types - the new leaks also re-raise the possibility of AMOLED for this new smart TV. However, the manufacturer also now linked to OnePlus as a supplier reportedly does not provide this display material.
The new certification also shows the TV is equipped with Bluetooth 5.0. At this point, it cannot be said for sure that this product has a camera, as the Honor Vision does. On the other hand, the documents does list a "Security Manager Protocol" among its technology, which just may indicate the scope of biometrics of some kind.
