OnePlus is all set to announce the 7T and 7T Pro later this month, and the company is implementing a few design changes for this late-year refresh. While it is not uncommon to see OEMs release official renders of their upcoming products, OnePlus is perhaps doing this for the first time.
The upcoming 7T will have a circular camera housing with three cameras in tow. We've actually been expecting this design for a while now, and it is nice to see that OnePlus has officially confirmed the same. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said that the circular housing helps in lending symmetry for the cameras from any orientation and ably contrasts the phone's straight line design typical of a rectangular form factor. The design sketches show that the OnePlus 7's notch will continue to be retained. Lau also said that the new iteration will have smooth matte surface with a "brilliant metallic radiance".
Though not official, we do have an idea of what to expect when it comes to the specifications of the OnePlus 7T. Expect to see a Snapdragon 855+, 8 GB of RAM, a 90 Hz FHD+ AMOLED display, a 48 MP triple-camera setup, and a 3,800 mAh battery.
The OnePlus 7T Pro, on the other hand, looks to offer little differentiation from the 7T with the exception of a QHD+ display, a pop-up selfie camera, 3x zoom, and a larger 4,085 mAh battery. The 7T Pro is also expected to retain the same design language as the current OnePlus 7 Pro. We will get to know more about OnePlus's latest offerings on September 26, so stay tuned.
