OnePlus has unveiled its second-gen McLaren Edition phone today (October 10, 2019). It is a 12GB/256GB version of the new 7T Pro (which was also unveiled today) with a signature black-and-orange finish. Other highlights of the OEM's latest show included the 7T and its series' UK pricing.

OnePlus launched its late-2019, 90-hertz smartphone series at a London event today. Unsurprisingly, the show started with the base 7T, which, as in its own prior release event, is a Snapdragon (SD) 855 Plus variant of the pre-existing 7 with a round rear-panel hump that houses triple cameras in a horizontal setting. However, unlike the OEM's last conference, things then moved on to the Pro version of the same phone.

This new phone goes back to the 7 Pro's vertical pill-shaped camera module, which contains the same 3 cameras as in the rest of the 7 series. However, the telephoto lens in this set-up has 3x optical zoom, whereas the 7T only has 2x. Otherwise, the new Pro also upgrades to the SD 855 Plus, and has 1 SKU with 8GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. It has a duskier shade of blue compared to that of the 7T or 7 Pro with a new "slick" light-shifting finish.

OnePlus and McLaren executives then took the stage to unveil their latest collaboration. This successor to the 6T special edition has the 7T Pro's specs, except for the part where its RAM is boosted to 12GB. It retains the papaya-orange bottom-edge accent of its existing generation; however, the black background against which this is set has a new, liquid-metal pattern. The OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition also has a new case option, which is finished with Alcantara (a first for this brand) and carbon-fiber grips.

OnePlus also announced a "Chicken Dinner" partnership with PUBG to celebrate the launch. It apparently involves a new suite of optimizations for this game that are enacted on the new devices on which it is activated. The OEM also mentioned the new Olive Green colorway for its Bullets Wireless 2, which will cost £99 ($123) in the UK, and that its new phones will ship updated to Android 10. The 7T series will be available in their new market from Oxtober 17, 2019. They start at £549 (~US$680) for the 7T; £699 ($866) for the 7T Pro; and £799 ($990) for the new McLaren Edition.
