The tech world has yet to confirm beyond a doubt that a OnePlus 7T Pro will launch on October 10, 2019. Despite this, OnLeaks and CashKaro have reportedly learned that the device to be released thereafter has some crucial differences compared to the OEM's current phones. These are 2 modern-day trends it has been avoiding in its designs to date: a punch-hole selfie camera and wireless charging.
The two leakers claim to have obtained information from a OnePlus "insider" to this effect, and have collaborated to generate new renders based on the same. They depict a phone with the majority of the 7 Pro's design language still intact, albeit with a rear-panel finish that looks more like the Glacier Blue of the 7T. This implies that the OEM will stick with a triple camera and a glass back in the putative "8".
Nevertheless, the esthetic effect may be pleasing, particularly as the in-display camera (set in one corner like those of many newer Honor phones) results in virtually non-existent bezels. OnLeaks and CashKaro's assertion that the OEM will finally include wireless charging with this device is also interesting. To date, OnePlus has asserted that it will not integrate this technology until it can equal the speed of its latest wired solution.
On that note, another recent report has indicated that in-house attempts to deliver this feature resulted in such excessive overheating that it failed to be ready in time for the OEM's 2019 products' release. Now, however, there are hints that this may no longer be the case. Then again, there is no evidence as yet that this new leak is valid; for example, there is no guarantee that OnePlus will even use the suffix '8' next year.
