85.6% OnePlus 7T smartphone review: A large package of improvements | Notebookcheck
The OnePlus 7T is a powerful update from its predecessor and comes with many features previously reserved for the "Pro" model. This sounds like a good thing for all buyers, but you'll find out in this review if the budget high-end phone is really worth it.
OnePlus 7T Review – Day 2
Source: Cool Smartphone English
Now, I’ve pushed this. I’ve perhaps done a few things that you wouldn’t normally do. Standing in a completely pitch-black field, shiverring cold and generally not holding the phone as still as I should’ve – all stuff you might not do. For the most part though, when you’re taking shots in low-light conditions, you never need that flash. Just snap away and you’ll get shots like this…

OnePlus 7T Review – Day 1

I liked this particular phone the minute I saw it at the launch. Sure, there’s a “Pro” model, but I was more impressed with the design of this one. I’m not saying that the other one is bad, because it isn’t – this one was just my preference.

You’re also getting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor on this device, which is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. If you’re wondering about the performance difference between the standard 855 and the overclocked one, the website says that there’s a 15% boost in the 855+. In short, I don’t think the processing package will leave you wanting.

Actually, if you are ready to be a little patient with the cameras, we still think it is simply the best value for money flagship out there. It is a clear spec step above the OnePlus 7T and sits very comfortably with the best at the top of the smartphone pile. No, it is not good enough to dethrone them. Not yet. But it will never let them settle.

If you purchased a OnePlus 7 and felt slightly disappointed by the lack of razzamatazz, then the 7T is what you're after. It looks better, it feels better and has that extra camera in a futuristic-looking dome. But, you'll need to cough up more than the 499 you spent on the 7 - 150 more, to be precise.

In theory, I like that OnePlus is trying to differentiate its phones with features like its ringer switch, 90 Hz display refresh, lightning-fast Android updates, and gaming mode. But in practice, the OnePlus 7T might be a better phone without these things. It's not a bad phone, but there's room for improvement.

For me, the OnePlus 7T is another testament of the fact that smartphones have hit a sweet spot where it is near perfect in every aspect from processor to the camera and battery life. OnePlus 7T review: A value-for-money smartphone marred by software glitches
Source: Business Standard English
At Rs 37,999 for the base variant with 128GB storage, the OnePlus 7T is a smartphone rich in specifications, but it needs some software polishing. Considering OnePlus’ past record on software updates, it is safe to assume that the phone’s current limitations in OS, camera performance, and display inaccuracy would be addressed through future software updates. Until then, exploring Asus’ gaming-centric ROG Phone II (review) — which has the same price tag as the OnePlus 7T but a lot more to offer — seems a better choice.

That's not to say that you'd ever regret this purchase. It's a great phone with a great camera. It has the best chipset that you can buy, UFS 3.0 storage, 8GB RAM, a 90Hz AMOLED display, great battery life and more. You will absolutely love this phone. I just think that you're still better off with the OnePlus 7 Pro, even though it also doesn't have wireless charging. With 8GB RAM and twice the storage, it's $100 more, or for $150 more, you can get 12GB RAM.

More lens and photo gameplay, bigger battery capacity and flash charging, and a smoother system. For OnePlus 7, these upgrades are really small and not a surprise, but OnePlus 7T does complete it. The “mission”, a substantial upgrade is not necessary, more surprises and innovations let us wait to see next spring. If you’re not concerned with the camera, the OnePlus 7T makes more sense than almost every other flagship on the market. Obviously, though, that won’t be the case for everyone, since cameras are a huge selling point on all of these phones. If you’re on a budget and do care about the camera, though, the Pixel 3a seems like the better option as opposed to dropping more cash on a more expensive phone.

It has some of the specs of the Pros, a touch of their design and has pricing that is classic OnePlus, as compared to its slightly more premium 2019 avatar. If that is not a killer combination for anyone looking for a flagship device on a relatively tight budget, we do not know what is.

The OnePlus 7T offers you what you pay for. The design looks beautiful, there are no performance issues with the phone, and the camera works well. This is the perfect flagship killer available in the market. It runs on Android 10 based on Oxygen OS and OnePlus constantly provides updates for their smartphones so if you face any minor issues with the OS right now they will definitely get solved in the future. The only complain we have is regarding the battery because at this price OnePlus can easily give a bigger battery with their smartphone. Apart from that, there are no issues and the OnePlus 7T gets a thumbs up from our side.

Once again OnePlus has produced a gorgeous, rapid and super slick Android phone which, as the Chinese maker has become renowned for, goes toe-to-toe with far more powerful flagships for significantly less money. The OnePlus 7T is one of the best devices OnePlus has made in years. It has some the best specs available on the market, the latest Android has to offer, and a great camera system, all for $599. Personally, I feel the 7T puts the OnePlus 7 Pro in an even weirder position than before. The 7T is cheaper with better specs (minus screen resolution and battery capacity). Sure, the 7 Pro offers the pop-up selfie camera, but the notch in this device really doesn’t bother me. If you’re shopping for a new smartphone, the OnePlus 7T is a no-brainer. Hands on: OnePlus 7T review

Lastly, the OnePlus 7T has a bigger RAM (8GB over the 6T's 6GB). It's another one-up that represents the progress OnePlus has made in the last year since the arrival of its 6T. The Chinese brand has perhaps made the biggest leaps in camera technology, although smaller upgrades across battery, screen and software all combine to provide a worthy upgrade – if the price is right, of course. While we expect the 7T to come in a fair bit below the 7 Pro (from-£649) – sub-£500 would be nice, eh? – we’ll have to wait a fortnight for pricing details of the 128GB and 256GB variants to be announced. That's when we'll have our full verdict stamped with an appropriate star rating.

80% OnePlus 7T Review: Even Better
Source: Slashgear English
Do improvements from the 6T to the 7 mean the 6T is now no longer good? Of course not! It’s still the scrappy fighter we experienced with our original OnePlus 6T Review from last year. Is the OnePlus 7T worth $50 (or more) than a brand new OnePlus 6T today? Yes, I think so – if only for the improved set of cameras. Each time OnePlus releases a new phone, they seem to improve their ability to implement the right set of features for the best possible value.

OnePlus 7T review: Rapid refresh
Source: Pocket Lint English
It might not have the sharper display of the 7 Pro, but we think the 7T is the best OnePlus phone this year, regardless of cost. The big, flat and skinny-bezeled screen on the front is gorgeous, the battery lasts, the performance is speedy, and the cameras are fun to play with.

OnePlus 7T review: High-end specs and Android 10 for $600
Source: Tech Switch English
At this level, it might be laborious to maintain monitor of what number of telephones OnePlus has launched this yr. All it’s worthwhile to know, although, is that the OnePlus 7T is not as “premium” because the OnePlus 7 Pro, but it surely’s nonetheless product of one of the best bits. That consists of the 90Hz display, a triple rear digital camera that takes glorious low-light photographs and a fast-charging battery. It additionally has the newest Android 10 out of the field and it is cheaper besides, at simply $599. (UK pricing is unavailable at the moment, however that is about £485. The cellphone will not be offered in Australia.)

OnePlus 7T review
Source: PC Advisor English
The OnePlus 7T is a phenomenal smartphone that bridges the gap between the company’s standard and Pro lines, featuring a large 6.55in AMOLED display with speedy 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10 support, a triple-camera setup on the rear consisting of a wide, ultra-wide and telephoto lens and rapid 30W charging that boosts your phone to almost 50 percent in just 20 minutes. The design is eye-catching without being too in-your-face, and the lightweight form factor makes it feel good in the hand too. Admittedly it’s not the perfect smartphone with a slightly buggy Super Stabilised video mode and a 60fps cap on games despite the 90Hz refresh rate, but there’s still a lot to be excited about with the OnePlus 7T – especially at a sub-flagship price point.

Model: The circle continues. Every year a new device is the motto of all smartphone manufacturers and OnePlus is not different than others. This time we have the OnePlus 7T. After 6 months of the Pro version, OnePlus seems to hear its original customer base and listened when they said they are worried the company is focusing on the more expensive segment.

The 7T is a more affordable version of 7T Pro version. There is also a McLearen edition, but that is a different topic. Is there anything innovative or anything extraordinary with this phone? Of course not. Budget phones are not meant for such topics. Actually, an interesting difference between the 7T and 7T Pro is that the cheaper model has a slightly faster CPU, which I find kind of interesting. It comes with a 855+ instead of a 855. This is not the biggest deal of course, but something to keep in mind.

Most of the users will be focusing on the camera. Because lately this is what matters. So, there is a triple camera setup consisting of a 48 MP, 16 MP, and 12 MP sensor. It is not one of the best cameras out there, but it is one of the best Okays in the market. I just compared the specs with my beloved Xiaomi Mi 9 and well the specs are pretty similar. The main difference is in the software. I checked a few online comparisons and my conclusion is that it is all about your taste. There are a few cases where I think images from the OnePlus 7T camera are way better, but there are cases it is not that good. But overall, I can't say the images are too bright. One downside of the camera is that it has a bump. Yes, an ugly bump, that you can not avoid.

Other difference to mainstream smartphones is the 90 Hz screen. Is it a big difference? Well, I am not so sure. There is fast charging, but no wireless.

My verdict? If you have the money, I can suggest to wait a bit and see how the Xiaomi CC9 is going to perform. It is coming with a 108 MP camera and it is a big hype. If you want to take a look at the competition, there is currently the Xiaomi Mi 9T available and it will be a good comparison. Both have very similar specs. The main difference is on the UI. On one side there is Oxygen OS and on the other MUIUI. On the background of course both currently run Android 10, but it is all about minor differences.

I can suggest you to buy the OnePlus 7T without thinking. I don't see any big disadvantages. Especially, considering the fact that Android phones lose value too fast, getting something that does the job on the level of flagship phones can even be a good investment.

Hands-on article by Ümit Yılmaz Güneş

Qualcomm Adreno 640: Graphics chip for smartphones and tablets that is intergrated within the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. Qualcomm claims that it is 20% faster than the Adreno 630 in the Snapdragon 845 SoC and offers 50% more compute units (ALUs).

Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.

» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.

855+: High-end SoC for smartphones that was introduced in 2019 and manufactured in 7 nm at TSMC. Integrates one “Prime Core” based on a modified ARM Cortex-A76 architecture clocked at up to 2.96 GHz. Three more performance cores are also based on the A76 but clock up to 2.42 GHz. Furthermore, four energy saving cores are integrated that are based on the ARM Cortex-A55 architecture and clock at up to 1.8 GHz. In addition to the processor cores, the SoC integrates a X24 LTE modem (up to 2 Gigbit download), a new Wi-Fi modem (Wi-Fi 6 ready, 60 GHz mmWave), Hexagon 690 DSP with new Tensor cores for AI processing, a Spectra 380 ISP with an integrated computer vision engine and an integrated LPDDR4x memory controller. Compared to the normal Snapdragon 855, the 855 Plus offers higher clock speeds of the GPU and CPU.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

Only a few smartphones have larger screens.
Large display-sizes allow higher resolutions. So, details like letters are bigger. On the other hand, the power consumption is lower with small screen diagonals and the devices are smaller, more lightweight and cheaper.

Only few smartphones are more lightweight than this.

OnePlus:

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Shenzhen OnePlus Science & Technology Co., Ltd. was founded in 2013. The first smartphone was launched in 2014.

It is a subsidiary of BBK Electronic Corporation, a Chinese giant electronic company group, which contains Oppo and Vivo, too. Oppo, Vivo and OnePlus combined had a world market share of more than 10% in the smartphone business in 2016. This exceeded even the Huawei share and resulted in rank 3 behing Samsung and Apple. Furthermore, it was an increase of about 140% compared to 2015. However, OnePlus is the smallest of the three BBK-smartphone manufacturers.

There are not too many reviews on OnePlus smartphones, the ratings are above average (as of 2016).

87.24%: This is a good rating above average. Nevertheless you should not forget, that 10-15% of all notebook-models get a better rating.
