Reviews for the Asus ROG Phone 2

90% ASUS ROG Phone 2 review: More than just a great gaming phone
Source: Android Central English
The ROG Phone 2 has everything turned up to 11: there's RGB lighting at the back, the Snapdragon 855+ chipset runs through everyday tasks with ease, the 120Hz display fundamentally alters how you use the phone, and the 6000mAh battery lasts two days. Yes, it's a great gaming phone, but even if you're not into gaming, there's plenty to like here.

ASUS ROG Phone 2 review - This is seriously one badass gaming smartphone
Source: Tech Nave English
Looking back at the first ROG Phone, the ROG Phone 2 is definitely an improvement as it has fixed some of the things I didn't like back then. This includes the ridiculously good battery performance, better sound quality, and the improved Game Genie app. The AirTrigger is kinda in between as I have a problem of pressing hold because it's too sensitive, but overall, there is very little to complain about.

If you’re planning to take full advantage of its capabilities as a gaming phone, you’ll inevitably need to chunk out for its array of optional controllers and other add-ons though casual gamers will find its capabilities out of the box are more than sufficient to tackle the odd LAN match or two. After putting the phone through everything it’s capable of for a week, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to someone looking for a new gaming smartphone. Heck, this phone is fully capable of being your mainstream smartphone. I’ve already mentioned the factors or deal-breakers that you should consider before buying the device. If you can’t see yourself overcoming those, despite knowing what you get with the ROG Phone II, look no further than the OnePlus 7T.

80% Asus ROG Phone II review: The best gaming phone in India
Source: Gadget Show English
Asus has made a seriously impressive smartphone for gamers. We found it to be extremely capable of lag-free gaming performance for extended periods, though it does starts heating up a little after 3 hours of playing graphic-intensive games at highest-possible settings. The battery lasts easily for a day even after about 4 hours of gaming daily. The cameras gave mostly clear shots during daytime but not so good in the night. The audio performance is beyond impressive for a phone of this price. If mobile gaming is your passion and you are not the sort to compromise even slightly on the gaming specs and performance in your cherished phone, and also, are willing to go easy on the camera department which is a little letdown, especially in night-time photography, the ROG Phone II is the ideal choice for you.

The Asus ROG Phone 2 is a solid piece of hardware and is definitely the most polished and impressive gaming phone we've seen so far. It lacks some features such as waterproofing and wireless charging, but at Rs. 37,999, those things aren't big deal breakers. The higher-end version feels too expensive at nearly Rs. 60,000 even with the massive bump in storage and the bundled accessories. A price of around Rs. 50,000 would have been more accessible.

Asus ROG Phone 2 Review: One Phone for all your needs!
Source: The Mobile Indian English
Asus has left no stone unturned when it comes to designing this smartphone. The smartphone is loaded with top-notch hardware and the performance is crisp. The 120Hz display is the star of the show and so is the massive 6,000mAh battery. The camera performance is decent in daylight, though in low light it shimmers a bit. Overall, the Asus ROG Phone 2 is, without any doubt, one of the best gaming smartphones in this price range. If you are not into much of gaming, then it remains one of the best mid-premium flagship phones at your disposal.

Asus ROG Phone II review: Beating premium smartphones on their own turf
Source: Business Standard English
With regard to gaming, multimedia and battery, the Asus ROG Phone II sets new benchmarks for both midrange and premium phones. At Rs 37,999 for the base model (8GB RAM + 256GB storage), the phone is a steal: It can outperform even the premium smartphones. Pick this one for its all-round performance, games-related software and hardware enhancements, immersive multimedia capabilities and a long-lasting battery. Except for its mediocre camera performance, there is nothing that you might not like in the ROG Phone II.

Evaluating the ROG Phone II as a standard flagship-class phone, this is an average one: not the best, but not bad. As with most larger phones, having such a huge screen is wonderful, and this is one of the biggest, nicest screens out there. But it's when you consider the life-changing battery stamina that it becomes truly tempting. If you can afford it and don't mind the size trade-off, it's a compelling option.

65% Asus’ ROG Phone II is Powerful, Ambitious, and Ridiculous
Source: The Verge English
Asus’ ambitious gaming phone offers a lot of power for $899, and thanks to its accessories, it’s capable of more than almost any other phone out there. There’s an audience for this kind of package, but for most people, it probably comes with too many compromises. It’s big, heavy, and you’ll need to spend hundreds to see some of that potential as a portable gaming console come to fruition.

If you love gaming on your phone and want something that doesn't hinder your gameplay skills, this is a phone that will support instead of asking you to adjust accordingly. It's silly fast and smooth as well. The 6000mAh battery makes for reliable battery life and the audio through the speakers is impressive. What else do you need from a gaming phone?

The phone also has a side mounted Type C port on top of the obligatory bottom one for a total of two that interfaces with the Aeroactive Cooler when attached but in lieu of that also accepts a standard cable for charging duties. Keeping it all juiced is a 6,000mAh battery which ought to keep it running through all but the most intensive gaming sessions.

ASUS really needs to bring the phone over ASAP to the Philippines so that people will finally be able to properly experience the phone’s gaming greatness.

Asus ROG Phone II Review: Tough to go Wrong with this One!
Source: Tech PP English
Asus clearly isn’t playing around (pun intended) with the ROG Phone II in India. The smartphone has been launched for a lucrative price of just Rs. 37,999 which considering everything that it offers is quite a bargain. The ROG Phone II is spec’d up as much as any phone could be and irrespective of whether you play games on your phone or not, the ROG Phone II feels like a phone you can’t resist buying. The performance is amazing, the 120Hz display is smooth as ever, battery life is nuts and you get a ton of gaming-related features and accessories if you’re into that sort of a thing. The OnePlus 7T launches on the same evening as the day this review goes live and is expected to come with similar specifications like the Snapdragon 855+, a smooth 90Hz display and triple cameras instead of two on this. Of course, that’s more of a conventional smartphone rather than a pocket PC that went overboard. You can wait for how that turns out before you make the final decision.

The ROG Kunai Gamepad consists of three components — the ROG Kunai Bumper, ROG Kunai Controllers and ROG Kunai Holder. The two-part Kunai Controllers can be attached to the Kunai Holder to create a standalone gamepad, or combined with the Kunai Bumper to add physical gamepad controls to ROG Phone II itself. The ROG Phone 2 is a classic second phone: an iterative improvement that doesn’t rock the boat too much. Asus ROG Phone 2 Hands-On Review: A Beastly Gaming Phone Ever
Source: Igeekphone English
I think users’ attitude towards Asus ROG 2 should be two extremes. People who don’t like it can find many reasons, such as big, heavy, overperformance and low-cost performance. But for those who like it, all these shortcomings can be converted into advantages: the screen is big enough, the battery life is strong, the performance is hot, the armor looks cool, and the price of 3499 yuan is quite close to the people in the ROG series. Especially in the eyes of ROG believers, it is just a loser’s eye LOGO, probably more than this price.

Last year’s ASUS ROG Phone felt like one of the first gaming phones that actually made sense. But for its second attempt, Asus has doubled down on everything: Between its big 6.6-inch screen, a new processor from Qualcomm, and an absolutely massive battery, Asus may have just created the most powerful Android phone on the market. Let’s start with its display. Instead of sticking with a 90Hz refresh rate, Asus selected an OLED screen with an even faster 120Hz refresh rate, which is the first of its kind among phones and apes the trend towards more responsive displays we’ve seen on gaming PCs.

Source: B2G English
The first ROG Phone was a product that mobile gamers didn’t think they needed until it launched last Computex 2018. It’s the first gaming phone that has accessories which greatly improves the gaming experience of the user. ASUS ROG saw that mobile hardware can now play games at high refresh rates and the need for accessories in a “gaming phone.” The ROG Phone 2 was created out of demand and not because Asus can just do it. According to their studies, there will be a 14% growth rate of the eSports audience with 57% of the growth coming from the Asia Pacific. This projected growth has led Asus to develop the next gaming standard of the mobile market. Does the ROG Phone 2 live up as another game-changer in the smartphone landscape? Let’s take a closer look.

The low latency, high refresh-rate AMOLED display sets it apart from smartphones sporting the same type of display namely the OnePlus 7 Pro, Razer Phone II, Blackshark II and even the iPhone XS Max. Regardless if you buy the ROG Phone II with accessories or not, the gameplay experience is still very immersive in its own right.
