The wait for Android 9.0 Pie continues for LG V20 owners, but it now appears that LG is finishing its testing for the OS upgrade. A new build has been finalised, with the initial Pie update reportedly coming very soon.

We are now over halfway through Q3 and LG is still holding out on delivering Android 9.0 Pie to the V20. LG is still on schedule, with the South Korean company promising to have the OS upgrade ready in this quarter. There have been signs that it has been working towards that goal too, as we previously reported on last month.

Now, MyLGPhones claims that the Android 9.0 Pie update "could be available very soon in South Korea, the country likely to first receive the OS upgrade for the V20. While timelines remain unknown, the website has disclosed that LG has finalised a new beta build called LGF800LAT-V28b-LGU-KR-AUG-22-2019+0. Breaking the file name down, LGU refers to LGUP, the software that allows you to flash OS builds to LG devices. Secondly, KR signifies that it is a South Korean build, with the file name also containing the date on which it was finalised.

MyLGPhones claims that the new beta build is available as an over-the-air (OTA) update if your device is running the V20k firmware, which LG pushed out in March. Hopefully, the rollout goes more smoothly than it has with the V30, with LG recently pulling the update from its servers with no sign of a new build.
