There is life in the old jack yet; Mate 30 cases reveal what the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ sorely lack
Samsung may have finally ditched the headphone jack with the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+, but it appears that Huawei is remaining true to the trusty port. The news comes courtesy of leaker @Sudhanshu1414, who has tweeted photos of what they claim to be Mate 30 cases.
The designs follow the current consensus about the Mate 30, with there being the Lumia-esque circular rear-facing camera housing. There is also a large pill-shaped space that may be an LED flash, along with a raised edge around the camera housing, indicating that it will protrude slightly from the back glass.
There are also apertures for a bottom-firing speaker, a USB Type-C port and a microphone, which are all standard fare for a modern smartphone. However, the cases also have a space for a 3.5 mm headphone jack, something of a rarity among recent flagships. @Sudhanshu1414 has confirmed that is the case too, which would make the Mate 30 one of the few flagship series besides the Galaxy S10 to include a headphone jack.
The Mate 30 series may launch as soon as next month, with it expected to include quad rear-facing cameras, a Kirin 990 SoC and perhaps even a 4,400 mAh battery.
