OnePlus allegedly plans to release Android 10 on the same day as Google
Recently, PhoneArena has posted evidence to the effect that Google will finally release the 10th-anniversary version of its popular mobile OS (Android 10) during an event on September 3, 2019. Now, another source implies that a company that uses this system on its phones plans to do the same.
An apparent screenshot of correspondence between 2 individuals, 1 of whom is apparently associated with the OEM OnePlus has been posted to Reddit by the user Staafnek. The other contributor to this thread seems to be making enquiries as to when this company plans to release a software update based on Android 10.
The response includes the same date specified by PhoneArena, and goes on to categorically state: "Nick, as of now we wish to provide an update simultaneously with the Android 10 launch". Should OnePlus fulfil this apparent goal, it is likely that the devices at the head of the queue to get this extremely timely update would be the 7 and 7 Pro, the OEM's most recent flagships.
This is plausible as both devices have received Developer Preview builds based on Android 10 (back when it was known as 'Q') since Google announced their availability. The conversion of these ROMs to a final, stable version by September 3 would be an impressive feather in this company's cap. On the other hand, as OnePlus also has to engineer the novel tweaks that make Android into OxygenOS, this possibility may yet slip out of its hands.
