OnePlus 7 Pro owners who are waiting for a zero shutter lag update might be a bit disappointed because OxygenOS 9.5.9 does not include this treat. However, the latest software update for the aforementioned Android phablet comes with a few improvements in the camera department in addition to the minor tweaks and fixes one would expect from it.
According to the official "yuuge" changelog, these are the key improvements to the OnePlus 7 Pro camera software:
- Faster autofocus and front-to-back camera switching.
- Advanced photo-stitching when using the Panorama mode.
- Improved 48 MP JPG image quality when shooting in Pro mode.
The list of overall system improvements is quite long and it includes smoother visual effects, improved touch sensitivity, optimized haptic feedback, Face Unlock assistive lighting, enhanced GPS speed and accuracy when the screen is turned off, multiple minor bug fixes and improvements, as well as the official June security update from Google.
OxygenOS 9.5.9 is an OTA that has a staged rollout and only a limited number of users were supposed to get it in the first days. Since this piece of code became available yesterday, a broader rollout will follow soon so there is no need to worry if you are not one of the lucky few. As usual, feel free to drop a comment as soon as you get the update.
