Rumor | OnePlus will bring its TVs to the European market soon
OnePlus' top executive has reportedly hinted to some in the media that the OEM is on the brink of a smart TV launch in Europe for the first time. The company has been in the market for these devices since 2019, and yet has never launched this product line to a region that is often key to it in terms of other products.
However, according to a new WinFuture leak, OnePlus is now nearly ready to offer TVs to European customers. Then again, these new claims do not come with specific details on the lines or models OnePlus might offer in Europe. Its line of TVs are headlined by the more premium Q1 and Q1 Pro, although it has diversified into the affordable U- and Y-series since then.
The timing of OnePlus' alleged decision might strike one as a little odd, especially in light of the EU-wide lockdowns of 2020 and 2021, which might have provided better conditions for a company looking to break into a new regional smart TV market.
On the other hand, the OEM may have held off until now to see how well the rest of its ecosystem products (some of which have been designed to sync with and even control own-brand TVs) were selling in Europe before completing the portfolio of products available to the region.
