SamMobile has provided new details about Samsung's move from Tizen OS to Wear OS. In February, Ice Universe tweeted that 'Samsung's new watch will use Android', which was presumed to be the smartwatch variant of it. Subsequently, XDA Developers discovered references to new Samsung smartwatches running Wear OS.
However, SamMobile asserts that Samsung's next smartwatches will not run WearOS as we know it. Instead, the Galaxy Watch 4 will run a One UI version of Wear OS, supposedly One UI 3.x. SamMoblie insists that One UI 3.x will look and feel like Tizen OS but with Wear OS underpinning it.
SamMobile adds that Samsung refers to the Galaxy Watch 4 internally as 'Wise', although we expect the company to release two Galaxy Watch 4 models. Similarly, SamMobile claims that 'Fresh' and 'Lucky' are 'sporty' models, presumably the Galaxy Watch Active 4.
Samsung is expected to announce new Galaxy smartwatches this summer. The Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch Active 4 series designs remain unknown at this stage, though.
