Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 4 specifications leak following Tizen OS and Wear OS merger
More details about one of Samsung's next smartwatches has emerged, not even 24 hours after Google and Samsung announced their partnership regarding Wear OS and Tizen. According to Ice Universe, Google and Samsung have settled on TizenWear OS, which seems a bit of a mouthful. Google now refers to Wear OS as Wear, so we doubt that TizenWear is its final name.
Regardless, the well-known leaker asserts that the Galaxy Watch Active 4 will feature a new 5 nm SoC, 2D glass and a narrower bezel than the ones found in current Samsung smartwatches. Additionally, Ice Universe claims that the Galaxy Watch Active 4 will have an 'excellent frame texture, suspected to be titanium alloy'. Roland Quandt thinks otherwise though, replying that Samsung will release aluminium and stainless steel models, not a titanium alloy one.
It is unclear what 5 nm SoC Ice Universe is referring to. However, we would expect Samsung to use it in the Galaxy Watch Active 4 and the Galaxy Watch 4, another smartwatch due to arrive this year. According to past leaks, Samsung plans to release both smartwatches simultaneously, and in two sizes.
