OPPO's annual Inno Day conference is currently in full swing; nevertheless, the mobile tech company has taken the time to wish its well-known subsidiary OnePlus a happy birthday. The brand is marking its 9th anniversary online right now, and has now announced that it will hold an event of some kind to take place on December 17, 2022.
Therefore, the newly scheduled fixture could be part of this ongoing celebration, and not necessarily be a launch event for the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered Android smartphone allegedly known as the OnePlus 11.
Then again, according to the famous tipster Digital Chat Station, the device has allegedly been registered with Chinese authorities, suggesting that it may launch soon after all. The leaker has provided a screenshot of the registration in question - which may highlight a potential discrepancy compared to the preceding 10T.
The "OPPO PHB110" and its supposedly 5,000mAh battery seems to have been certified to use mere 100W (or "5-11VDC/9A Max") charging, whereas the 10T supports OPPO/OnePlus' highest-end 150W SuperVOOC standard.
Then again, the apparent shift back down in terms of wired charging speeds might make the 11 and its power brick (presuming it ships with one) more compatible with third-party accessories (or smartphones); in addition, it would still be an upgrade over its direct early-year predecessor the 10 Pro.
Maybe the brand will shed some more light on the situation during its upcoming event.
