Comate CT comfortable e-bike with 150 km range now available
The Comate CT e-bike is now crowdfunding on Indiegogo for Europe. The brand claims that it is the most comfortable e-bike on the market, with a torque sensor to provide smooth assistance from the motor and a frame designed for optimal posture. Comate suggests that raising the handlebar by 50 mm (~2.0-in) and shifting the seat tube back by four degrees relative to the pedals provides an ergonomic riding position.
The CT comes in an entry-level Elite or higher-end Cruiser version with upgraded parts, including Suntour and RockShox suspension. Both models are powered by a hidden 250W rear hub motor providing up to 40 Nm torque and assistance up to a top speed of 25 kph (~16 mph) for the EU model, reaching the peak speed in around four seconds. The US model has a higher top speed of 32 kph (~20 mph). A 360Wh lithium-ion battery allows you to travel up to 150 km (~93 miles) with assistance, with a full recharge taking around three hours.
An integrated TFT display shows information such as the battery charge level and directions, and an accompanying app shows further details on your journey. The bike is relatively light, weighing 18 kg (~40 lbs). You can buy the Comate CT Elite and Cruiser e-bikes via Indiegogo for €1,490 and €1,750, respectively; this is around 30% off the future retail prices of €2,190 and €2,490. The bicycles are expected to ship in August and are available in gray or black. Currently, the company is only shipping to European countries such as the UK, Netherlands, France and Sweden.
