2023 Decathlon Rockrider E-ST 100 cheaper e-bike now available
The 2023 Decathlon Rockrider E-ST 100 e-mountain bike is now on sale in the EU. The new model has the same 250W motor as the older one, delivering 42 Nm torque and a top assistance speed of 25 kph (~16 mph). The cadence sensor and battery pack are also identical, with a 380Wh capacity for over two hours of assistance time.
The display has been altered for the 2023 E-ST 100, swapping the LCD for a more straightforward control panel with Bluetooth connectivity, which allows you to view journey insights on your phone instead. You can choose from Eco, Normal or Boost modes on the gadget and check your battery level. Decathlon continues to use cheaper parts, presumably to lower the cost of this entry-level e-bike; an eight-speed Microshift MS25 rear derailleur is accompanied by a Suntour XCT 30 suspension fork and 180mm Tektro TKD68 mechanical disc brakes.
The tires on the new model are 2.2-in Rockrider All Terrain Light 60 TPI, with a 30 TPI variant used for its predecessor. The e-bike is also lighter, although made with the same 6061 aluminum alloy with hydroformed tubes. The 2023 medium version weighs 21.7 kg (~47.8 lbs) rather than 22.3 kg (~49.2 lbs). You can buy the 2023 Rockrider E-ST 100 e-MTB from Decathlon in EU countries such as France and Germany for €1,099 (~US$1,203). It is unclear whether or when the brand could launch the updated e-bike in other markets.
