New Garmin Beta v12.52 for Forerunner 245, Forerunner 745 and Forerunner 945 arrives
The Public Beta Version 12.52 update for the Garmin Forerunner 245, Forerunner 745 and Forerunner 945 series smartwatches is now available. The update contains a single bug fix, addressing an issue with workout metrics. Users have reported that measurements like VO2 Max and Training Load, used to understand your fitness and optimize your workouts, were not updating as expected.
While this problem has now been resolved with update v12.52, Garmin notes that you may need to carry out several activities to collect the necessary data to calculate these metrics again. The Beta update will be automatically delivered to the Forerunner 245, Forerunner 745 and Forerunner 945 wearables signed up to the Garmin Beta Program, with the watches running a daily check for the software.
The new software is a Release Candidate, meaning that Garmin plans to launch this update publicly, assuming no issues result from this Beta test. The two releases are expected to be identical; Garmin has yet to suggest then the general public update will go live. The last update for the Forerunner 245, Forerunner 745 and Forerunner 945 models, v12.51, arrived in April. This software updated the bike camera support alongside several small bug fixes and improvements. You can sign up to join the program via Garmin Connect.
