Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro pre-order customers face shipping delays amid quality control issue reports
The Galaxy Buds3 Pro have debuted at a price of $229.99, but are available at a discount when bundled with the pre-order of a new Galaxy Z Fold6 or Flip6 in a number of regions. However, that deal has reportedly turned sour for some early adopters of Samsung's new flagship earbuds.
A number of those consumers have taken to Reddit in order to highlight subsequent emails from Samsung informing them that their new Buds3 Pro might take longer to arrive than advertised, as the OEM is now considering a full "quality control evaluation" for the accessories.
It seems the earbuds have failed to meet Samsung's "standards" thanks to their switch from the traditional popcorn form-factor to an AirPod-like design, which also integrate external LEDs for the first time.
Their stems are marked with orange and blue to indicate intended use in the right and left ears respectively: colors reportedly achieved by dyes that can escape and stain the rest of the earbud, according to some reports.
Some owners also apparently find it far harder to change their Buds3 Pro eartips compared to other earbuds, a phenomenon supposedly related to the inclusion of a silicone seal that has prompted Samsung to release a guide to their removal without tearing them.
Other issues include general fit and finish defects, as well as cracks, dings and even dust exhibited by supposedly brand-new units right out of the box.
All in all, the situation has resulted in some pre-order customers failing to receive their Buds3 Pro (although others report no problems), while the new earphones may now face reduced availability in some markets: for example, they are now only available in white on Amazon at the time of writing.
