Samsung Galaxy XCover6 Pro and Tab Active4 Pro rugged enterprise-grade mobile devices launch in the US
Samsung has updated its "rugged portfolio" in 2022 with a new smartphone as well as a new tablet. Now, the Galaxy XCover6 Pro and Tab Active4 Pro have landed in the US as new options for those in demanding, challenging or even downright dangerous occupations.
Both devices have upheld the "sleek, durable and secure" design of the XCover and Tab Active lines in general, with up-to-date tweaks such as the first-gen 120Hz display and 5G support the 6 Pro will bring with it to US workers. They also both offer access to Samsung DeX, a Knox software suite and, of course, removable batteries.
Then again, the Tab Active4 Pro is rated to offer only 1 year of complementary access to Samsung's security features with each unit purchased in the US. Then again, it improves on this with a business-grade 5 years' worth of security patch upgrades, whereas the XCover6 Pro comes with 4 years of OS upgrades.
The new rugged smartphone is not available to purchase until October 2022 (even though it can be found on retail Amazon right now), whereas the 4 Pro can be ordered in Wi-Fi only or 4G/LTE SKUs starting at US$649. Enterprise customers can get at them via Samsung Business, Amazon Business, selected official IT channel partners and certain carriers as applicable.
