The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Massage Chair is currently crowdfunding in China. The product uses AI to determine how much pressure to apply across its 4D movements, with the rollerballs moving up to 7 cm (~2.8-in). The arms, legs, hands, and feet are gently massaged using integrated air cushions, with further rollerballs placed under the feet.
The Mijia Smart Massage Chair can deliver six massaging techniques, including kneading and shiatsu, with varying intensities and speeds. The chair has a 1 m² (~11 ft²) footprint and can recline for an even more relaxing experience. You can adjust the chair via a remote control, using Xiao AI voice commands or the Xiaomi app. An NFC reader can trigger the app on your smartphone, where you can further customize your experience. Built-in safety features include a child lock and an emergency stop button. Other tools include a 3D surround Bluetooth speaker and an 18W USB-C port.
You can currently pledge 6,999 yuan (~US$959) to the Xiaomi Youpin campaign in China to receive the chair, assuming the crowdfunding target is hit. The device is expected to retail for 7,999 yuan (~US$1,096) in the future. The chair is currently offered in a Coffee color; it is unclear whether further variants are on the way or if the company hopes to launch the product in other markets.
