Kowoll Kolmower M28E relaunches via new Kickstarter campaign
The Kowoll Kolmower M28E has been relaunched via a second Kickstarter campaign; the first crowdfunding campaign for the smart home gadget launched in July. However, the company soon took it down due to “malicious attacks” and comments, as well as the departure of the R&D Director. Nonetheless, the latest campaign is off to a strong start, with almost 300 backers and over US$388,000 of funds, at the time of writing.
The Kolmower M28E uses 3D LiDAR and RTK-GPS navigation to move around your lawn efficiently without the need for boundary wires. The LiDAR sensor is retractable, and other sensors on the device help it to avoid obstacles and detect rain, automatically returning to the dock. Plus, you can use GPS to locate the robot in case of theft. The lawn mower can run for up to 120 minutes between charges and is suitable for gardens up to 4,000 m² (~43,006 ft²); you can set up and manage multiple zones via the accompanying app, where you can control various other settings.
The lowest pledge level for the Kowoll Kolmower M28E is currently US$1,199 for a Super Early Bird Basic Package. This includes the robot lawn mower, charging station and various accessories, with a 52% saving on the US$2,499 RRP. The company is shipping to select countries such as the US, the UK, Australia and the Netherlands, with delivery estimated for this October.
