The SwitchBot Curtain 3 has arrived, making your existing curtains smart. The gadget removes the need for a motorized curtain pole. Instead, the device attaches to your current rod, hidden behind the curtain, pushing the fabric along. The device is compatible with curtains hung on rods, U rails, and I rails.
The latest model of the SwitchBot Curtain is battery-powered like the last generation, but with an extended expected lifetime of eight months; there is also an option to recharge via the SwitchBot Solar Panel 3, which can be hung alongside the curtain robot. This third version is also quieter, with SwitchBot suggesting that the blinds produce as little as 25dB of noise in QuietDrift Mode. Plus, the Curtain 3 has a more powerful motor, supporting up to 16 kg (36 lbs) of curtains.
The new gadget is Matter compatible, another improvement, allowing you to control the device via many systems, including Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple HomeKit. This gives you access to app controls and voice commands alongside the physical remote or gently tugging the fabric to start the motor. Alternatively, you can set the curtains to open or close with timers or using a light sensor. You can now buy the SwitchBot Curtain 3 for $89.99/£89.99/€89.99 and the SwitchBot Solar Panel 3 for $25.99/£25.99/€25.99.
