The Xiaomi Mijia Sweeping Robot 3 has been launched in China. The vacuum cleaner has up to 4,000 Pa suction power, the same as the recently released 3S model, alongside vibration mopping. For comparison, the older Mijia Sweeping Robot 2 has just 2,800 Pa suction power.
The device uses LDS technology to navigate your home and dToF rather than 3D laser obstacle avoidance technology, which appears to be the main reason why the 3 is 200 yuan (~US$27) cheaper than the 3S. The Mijia Sweeping Robot 3 has a 3,200 mAh battery, matching the 3S, an onboard 420 ml dustbin and a 190 ml water tank. You can control the robot via the Mi Home app or Xiao AI voice commands. Plus, the device is compatible with the Mijia ecosystem, allowing you to link the robot vacuum with other smart home gadgets.
The robot is 353 mm (~13.9-in) wide and 96.5 mm (~3.8-in) tall, meaning it can easily move under furniture. You can now pre-order the Xiaomi Mijia Sweeping Robot 3 in China for the discounted price of 1,399 yuan (~US$192) with a 100 yuan (~US$14) deposit; the gadget is expected to retail for 1,599 yuan (~US$219). It remains unclear whether or when the device could arrive in other markets.
