Upcoming Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 marketing campaign gets a boost as former Meizu executive comes on board to take on the Huawei P40 series
A new report from MyDrivers claims that Xiaomi’s new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), Yang Zhe, will be in charge of the launch of the upcoming Mi Mix 4 flagship smartphone. Yang Zhe has been around in the smartphone industry for a while, having previously worked for Motorola, Apple, Samsung, Huawei, and Meizu among others. The new Xiaomi CMO will be bringing a lot of experience and ideas to the table, which will be ideal for an important launch such as that of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4.
It is believed Xiaomi wants to take on the Huawei P40 series with the Mi Mix 4, once again seemingly confirming that the latest Mi Mix device will sport the best components currently available. There have already been plenty of rumors about what these could be, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, a display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, a 144 MP main camera, a curved display, and 100 W fast-charging technology (or maybe even 120 W?).
Yang Zhe has quite the task on his hands, as the Huawei P40 with its fast Kirin 990 5G chipset and impressive cameras has been critically well-received, although Xiaomi still has the advantage of being able to fully incorporate Google Services. Yang Zhe has been a key figure in Huawei campaigns for the Mate devices and the P series smartphones, so he should know how to sell the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 to the public regardless of its expected high-end specifications.
