Digital Chat Station, who is a prolific leaker of smartphone details via the Chinese social network Weibo, has offered up the tiniest tidbits of information that will excite anyone still keen on the idea of a Xiaomi Mi Mix 4. The popular Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 was released in October 2018 and was succeeded by the practically mythical Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha, with no sign of the Mi Mix 4 (or Mi Mix 2020) so far. But it appears the Chinese OEM is busy working on at least two more flagship smartphones at the present.
The details offered about the upcoming Xiaomi devices include the possibility that they will sport a curved display form, which should please those fond of rounded surfaces on a smartphone. The same post also claims that the flagships will offer 120 Hz refresh rates, and it even reveals the supposed codenames for the two devices: Apollo and Verthandi. Apollo is the Greek god of the sun, among other things, while Verthandi is a fate goddess from Norse mythology.
Unsurprisingly, followers of Digital Chat Station have been having a crack at guessing what the two Xiaomi engineering devices could be. It seems many have plumped for either the Mi Mix 4 or the Xiaomi Mi 10S, which is expected to turn up in the second half of 2020. Of course, as the leaker mentions two smartphones, it could mean both of the above are being developed or there could be at least two different models in a Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 series or Mi 10S series. Either way, Xiaomi seems to be far from relenting on its prolific output for this year.
