It seems both Xiaomi and Redmi are planning an assault on the monitor market soon by releasing a number of new devices. According to Xiaomishka, the two companies will be working on a range of monitors that should satisfy users looking for specifics such as gaming, 4K, or ordinary affordable displays. This includes a new Redmi Display that could challenge the Xiaomi Mi Display 1A external monitor for attracting customers on a limited budget.
The report claims that Xiaomi has a 27-inch gaming monitor almost ready for the market, which will be made available in July. Following that, there will also be a smaller 24.5-inch display released in September. Those who would like a Xiaomi 4K monitor will have to wait until November when either a 27-inch or even a 29.5-inch SKU will be put on sale.
As for Redmi, the brand that is associated with more affordable devices is expected to release a 27-inch ordinary monitor along with 23.8-inch and 27-inch gaming monitors. The supposed 23.8-inch Redmi Display could be launched in June and there is mention of a reasonable 600-yuan price tag (US$85) for it. This would make the upcoming Redmi Display even cheaper than the just-released Xiaomi Mi Display 1A, which was priced at 699 yuan (US$99).
