Xiaomi has released its latest external monitor, the Mi Display 1A. Building on from the Mi Display 1, the Mi Display 1A retails for just CNY 699, equivalent to US$99 at current exchange rates. In fact, little separates the Mi Display 1A from the Mi Display 1. Gizchina reports that the former has narrower bezels than the latter, although that is hard to tell from marketing photos.
Nonetheless, the Mi Display 1A packs a 23.8-inch IPS display that operates natively at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. Peaking at 60 Hz, the 1A has a 178° viewing angle and a 6 ms response time.
Xiaomi claims that the display can reach 250 cd/m², a common maximum luminosity for budget external monitors. Additionally, the unit has a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and features DC brightness adjust technology that should minimise eye strain. The 1A only has one HDMI port though, a reflection of its entry-level credentials.
