It has been rumored that Xiaomi has yet another Redmi K30 smartphone in the works. Apparently, the next phone in the pipeline will be a “lite” version of the current Redmi K30 5G. Known as the Redmi K30i, this latest device will differ from the regular Redmi K30 5G with its camera specifications and bargain price.

It appears there is no letting up with smartphone releases over at Xiaomi and Redmi lately, with the latest rumor settling on a new addition coming to the Redmi K30 range. The rapidly expanding series already consists of the Redmi K30, Redmi K30 5G, Redmi K30 Pro, and Redmi K30 Pro Zoom, and now it seems a Redmi K30i will also be joining the lineup.

Details about the Redmi K30i, revealed by Xiaomishka, are rather scant at the moment, but apparently the upcoming smartphone from Xiaomi will be basically a cheaper “lite” variant of the Redmi K30 5G. While the regular model comes with a 64 MP main sensor in the rear-facing camera setup, the Redmi K30i will come with a 48 MP sensor to help cut costs.

The rumored price for the Redmi K30i is 1,799 yuan, which is roughly equivalent to US$254. The SoC for the Redmi K30i is currently unknown, but there has been speculation it could end up being a Dimensity 800 model from MediaTek. The alleged price makes the Redmi K30i an incredibly cheap 5G entrant to the smartphone world and should help add to the incredible sales figures the Redmi K30 range has already been racking up.
