Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Display 27, which as its name indicates, is a 27-inch external monitor. The affordable Redmi screen offers a Full HD resolution, while casual gamers after a budget option could be tempted by the 75 Hz refresh rate and 6 ms response time (gray-to-gray). The 1080p Redmi monitor is currently priced at 899 yuan in China, which is equivalent to about US$139, and it is scheduled to go on sale on March 8.
The top edge and side bezels of the new Redmi Display are very narrow and appealing, although the “chin” is quite substantial. However, the monitor should still find fans thanks to its very slim profile, with Xiaomi claiming a thickness of just 7.5 mm at the device’s thinnest point. The IPS technology assists with the 178° viewing angles, adding a layer of versatility to the 27-inch Redmi monitor.
The Redmi Display 27 also supports low blue-light emissions, which is useful for those who need to look at the monitor for long periods of time and don’t want to suffer from vision-related fatigue. There are connection ports for HDMI (1.4), VGA, and headphones, and the whole package weighs in at 4.3 kg. The Redmi monitor is likely to be an affordable option for those who spend a lot of time at the computer and like to mix in light gaming sessions with periods of work.
