Xiaomishka has delivered some new details about the Ryzen 4000-powered Xiaomi RedmiBooks that we reported about last month. It appears the popular Chinese OEM is planning on launching a RedmiBook 13, RedmiBook 14S, and RedmiBook 16 with APUs from AMD’s all-conquering Renoir series. At the time we had no further information about the processor or other components, but now some further details have been shared, including a possible launch date for the Renoir laptops occurring later this month.
The Xiaomi RedmiBooks will all be offered with a reasonable 16 GB of RAM and apparently all three of the future Ryzen 4000 laptops will be configured with a Ryzen 5 APU. Currently, there are five Ryzen 5 APUs in the Renoir lineup, and it seems reasonable that Xiaomi would want to choose the most economic processor out of the bunch, thus helping to keep the RedmiBook laptops thin and light. It’s fair speculation to believe the 6-core, 6-thread AMD Ryzen 5 4500U would be the most likely candidate here.
Placeholder prices have been included in the image shared by the noted Xiaomi fan (see below), but at 9,999 yuan (US$1,413) it seems safe to say these won’t be the actual price tags for the Ryzen 4000 Xiaomi RedmiBook laptops. The fact the same price is listed for each SKU regardless of size proves that detail. With Huawei also potentially planning on hopping on the Ryzen 4000 laptop bandwagon, the new Xiaomi RedmiBook 13, RedmiBook 14S, and RedmiBook 16 laptops will be welcome additions if priced accordingly.
