The RedmiBook 13, RedmiBook 14S, and RedmiBook 16 are expected to be released on May 26 at a Redmi launch event that will also include the Redmi 10X and the Redmi Smart TV X series. The general manager of the Xiaomi subsidiary, Lu Weibing, has been promoting the upcoming products on Weibo, where he offered some tidbits of information about the new laptops.
Unsurprisingly, the Redmi chief officially confirmed what was already widely known: That the RedmiBook laptops will sport AMD Ryzen 4000 APUs. While his promo image (see below) revealing this detail doesn’t state which SKUs will be used, a recent 3DMark leak has already offered up those specifics. However, it seems future RedmiBook users will be able to take advantage of a CPU-switching function that will help get the most out of the machine.
By pressing Fn + K, users can cycle between three modes on their Ryzen 4000 RedmiBook laptop: full speed, balanced, and quiet. Where it seems quite obvious that “full speed” mode is targeted at gamers who want to take full advantage of the laptop’s power, “quiet” mode and “balanced” mode should offer more battery life for users who are either in the office or mobile. The RedmiBook promo image (see below) shows the laptop following the current trend of having narrow display bezels.
