Updated | Redmi G gaming laptop coming soon with Intel processor, edgy looks...and a nosecam
Updated August 13: The Redmi G will come in an unconventional 16.1-inch format and feature a 144 Hz refresh rate capable display that covers 100% of the sRGB color space.

The rumor has been confirmed: Redmi is preparing to show off its first gaming laptop in the form of the Redmi G. The device has appeared in numerous promo images (see below), which show it to have a typical design language for a gaming laptop. The case looks large enough to contain an appropriate cooling solution, and there are those sharp edges that so many gaming laptops seem to sport. One of the marketing pictures shows the Intel logo, so no Ryzen-powered Redmi G for the time being at least.
It has been rumored that the new Redmi G gaming laptop will come with either a brand-new Intel Core i5-10200H chip or the slightly more powerful Comet Lake relative i5-10300H. There is no news about the discrete GPU, but if Redmi is planning on making this a budget gaming laptop then perhaps there will be something like an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 onboard to deal with graphics processing.
Redmi has given the Redmi G gaming laptop seemingly narrow bezels on the top and sides, but from the promo images it can be clearly seen that the device has a rather thick “chin”, which contains the laptop’s webcam. There was quite a furor when Dell implemented this solution with its XPS 15 9570 series, before moving the webcam back to its “rightful” place. Redmi will be revealing the full details of the Redmi G gaming laptop on August 14.
