Back in August last year, Redmi debuted its first gaming laptop, the Redmi G, as an affordable, capable option in the segment. The Redmi G appears to have been decently successful at the very least, as Redmi has now confirmed that a successor is on the way.
The Xiaomi sub-brand is geared to launch the Redmi G (2021) next week. In a post on Weibo, Redmi confirmed a September 22 release for the Redmi G (2021). The theme of the Redmi G (2021) appears to be "light", with Redmi making multiple references in the teaser image.
"Redmi G (2021). This time there must be light. Because of love, chasing light. Bright-chasing is the high-performance gaming notebook. See you on September 22."
Or something in that vein anyway. Details of the Redmi G (2021) are unknown but if the first-gen Redmi G is any indication, fans can expect 11th-gen Intel processors, a 16.1-inch 144 Hz display, and a sleek chassis. The Redmi G started at the equivalent of around US$760, and the Redmi G (2021) is unlikely to see a massive jump in prices.
