Xiaomi is preparing to release a thinner and lighter gaming laptop under its RedmiBook series. Not only will the Redmi K50 launch event showcase new smartphones, it will also be the place where Xiaomi unveils the RedmiBook Pro 2022. The RedmiBook Pro 2022 will arrive with Intel Alder Lake-H processors and NVIDIA GPUs mated to a 90 Hz display. The upcoming gaming laptop will debut with a revised cooling system too, among other features.

It turns out that Xiaomi will launch much more than Redmi K50 smartphones on March 17. Based on numerous teasers on its various Weibo accounts, Xiaomi will also showcase the RedmiBook Pro 2022 and a 100-inch Redmi MAX TV. Presumably, Xiaomi has a few other tricks up its sleeve too, such as the Redmi K40S.

While Xiaomi does not acknowledge this in its teasers, the RedmiBook Pro 2022 probably succeeds the RedmiBook Pro 15 that we reviewed last summer. Hopefully, Xiaomi takes greater care with this year's gaming laptop though, as we encountered numerous issues with our review unit. Seemingly, this year's model is thinner and lighter than its predecessor, as well as offering a revised cooling system.

Moreover, Xiaomi has confirmed that the RedmiBook Pro 2022 will ship with Intel Alder Lake-H processors, all 45 W parts. Additionally, Xiaomi has complemented these powerful processors with an unnamed NVIDIA GeForce GPU. For reference, Xiaomi equipped the RedmiBook Pro 15 with a GeForce MX450. Hence, the RedmiBook Pro 2022 could debut with a GeForce MX550 or GeForce MX570. Based on early benchmark results, the GeForce MX570 will be slower than the GeForce RTX 3050 and slightly ahead of the GeForce GTX 1650.

Furthermore, Xiaomi has teased that the RedmiBook Pro 2022 will launch with a 90 Hz and 3.2K display, likely an IPS panel. Separately, the company has hinted that the laptop will arrive with at least 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD, although it is unclear whether Xiaomi will release the RedmiBook Pro 2022 outside China.
