There is a rumor that Redmi is developing a new laptop that could be offered as a RedmiBook gaming laptop due to the standard of the Comet Lake processor apparently chosen for it. It has been stated that an as-of-yet unreleased Intel Core i5-10200H mobile chip would be used for the gaming-centric RedmiBook.

A tipster on Weibo has claimed that Xiaomi subsidiary Redmi is working on a new powerful laptop. Redmi already released some new Intel-powered devices to its laptop range last month, but those featured power-efficient Ice Lake processors. According to the rumor, the latest RedmiBook will sport a currently unreleased high power Comet Lake-H chip.

The Intel Core i5-10200H processor has been mentioned in connection with this potential RedmiBook gaming laptop. At the moment, Intel does not have a processor with this designation in its lineup, so it’s possible either the company is planning on augmenting the Comet Lake range with a new budget-level processor or the tipster mistyped "i5-10300H", which is a current fast quad-core chip that can be found in devices such as the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3i 15IMH05 and the budget gaming laptop MSI GF75 Thin 10SCXR.

Whether it is a new Intel Core i5-10200H or just a typo for the i5-10300H, it certainly seems that Redmi would use this more power-hungry processor (compared to the previously used Ice Lake options) to operate inside a device that relies heavily on extra power and performance, such as a gaming laptop. No other components were mentioned in the supposed leak, but it’s likely any RedmiBook gaming laptop would be aimed at the affordable end of the market.
